Beyond the Sea
From the Mastro family comes this exclusive new restaurant concept—Ocean 48.
Shhh. Hear that? It’s the sound of an elegant splash made by Ocean 48 as it debuts its newest concept in Newport Beach. The restaurant experience is akin to the high-diver, executing a smooth, graceful performance.
Opened in August, Ocean 48 has refined the dining experience in a vibrant luxurious atmosphere. There’s an elaborate glass-enclosed show kitchen, an interior reflection pool, private dining suites, and a collection of intimate dining rooms. The atmosphere is uniquely coastal. The personal service is high-touch. And every detail is curated to create the totality of the experience.
The warm and contemporary fine dining seafood-and-steak concept is by James Beard-nominated brothers Jeffrey and Michael Mastro, alongside their father Dennis and business partner Scott Trolio.
“My brother Mike and I are grateful to have the opportunity to bring our Ocean 48 concept to Fashion Island, and we are thrilled to be back in Orange County." - Jeffery Mastro
Specializing in world-class seafood with an elaborate selection of fresh fish and shellfish from around the world, Ocean 48 is committed to the highest quality ingredients. There’s also cut-above steaks from Mastro’s sister concept Steak 48: USDA Prime and Wagyu beef, including a very rare Kobe A5 wine-fed offering.
Among the most craveable appetizers and side dishes are caviar cones, chicken fried lobster tails, chef’s cut hanging bacon, and a chive + cream cheese stuffed hashbrown.
The wine list is extensive in the old- and new-world catego-ries. There are Chardonnay Reserves alongside Viogner and Gewürztraminer. Expect Pinot Noirs, Cabernets, French heavyweights as well as Italian varietals and so much more.
The cocktail program is top-shelf in all categories: Scotch, Tequila, Bourbon, and Whiskey. Save room for dessert: Pastry Chef Christine Connor is famous for her Triple Choco- late Bombe, Ultimate Warm Vanilla Caramel Cake, and Triple Layer Key Lime Pie.
